To our City Year community:

In 2003, City Year helped found Voices for National Service, a coalition of leading national service programs whose collective impact and outreach helps to build support for the federal commitment to national service, including the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and its signature program, AmeriCorps.

AmeriCorps is essential to City Year’s work and mission, and City Year is proud to serve as the organizational host for Voices of National Service. We want you, as City Year supporters and champions, to be aware of the powerful work that Voices for National Service is leading on, as well as the coalition’s track record of successful advocacy for service and volunteerism.

VFNS

This work is needed now more than ever.

The White House has proposed eliminating funding for CNCS, including all AmeriCorps positions nationwide. At this critical time, we ask that you become a voice for national service by contacting your elected officials, sharing your City Year story, and asking them to protect – and grow – federal funding for national service. It is easy to make the call, just click here.

For up to date information on federal funding for AmeriCorps, join our action alert network and visit Voices for National Service online.

Thank you for your support.
