Inspiring "STEM Kids"

Something you might not know about City Year is the opportunity corps members have to work with students in STEM - science, technology, engineering, and math - and share their own passion in these subject areas. In particular, City Year AmeriCorps members' work with math focus list students and through the FIRST LEGO League afterschool program allows for the chance to introduce concepts, reinforce learning, share excitement, and show students some of the opportunities involvement in these fields can bring.

After months of planning, this corps-led vacation camp experience took students to the rainforest, savannah, arctic and temperate forest without ever leaving the school building.
